We are asking for interested parties to nominate candidates (or themselves if they are interested in serving) to the Board of North County Unity. There are 5 positions that will be voted on at the June 13th general meeting and election of officers. See Events tab for time and place of meeting

Officers and Duties

Chair – The chair shall serve as the Chief Executive Officer and the official spokesperson of NCDPAC and carry out the policies of NCDPAC and its Executive Committee. No later than February 7^th of each year, the chair shall forward to the Secretary of the CDP and the Chairs of the Organizational Development Committee of the CDP a roster of the names, addresses, phone, and, if available, email addresses, of all the members of NCDPAC noting whether a particular member has organizational responsibility for a particular activity along with a copy of NCDPAC’s current bylaws and a written report on NCDPAC’s activities and progress towards fulfillment of its purposes, as evidenced through objective measures or standards. Shall appoint a Parliamentarian, who must be a member of NCDPAC, and a professional Treasurer, who need not be a member of NCDPAC and who may be compensated, as well as the Chairs of the Standing Committees. All such appointments, or any compensation for the Treasurer, must be ratified by the Executive Committee.

Vice Chairs (2 positions 1 Female and 1 Male) –There shall be two Vice Chairs, one male and one female, if possible. The Vice-Chair of the opposite gender of the Chair shall be the 1^st Vice-Chair and shall assume all duties of the Chair in the Chairs’s absence or until any vacancy in that office is filled. The other Vice-Chair shall be the 2^nd Vice-Chair. In the absence of the 1^st Vice-Chair, the 2^nd Vice-Chair shall perform the duties of the 1^st Vice-Chair. Both vice-chairs shall be responsible for performing such other duties as may be directed by NCDPAC.

Secretary – The secretary shall: (1) have custody of all membership records, attendance records and documents of NCDPAC and its Executive Board; (2) attend all meetings of NCDPAC and its Executive Board and take records of the proceedings of such meetings; (3) receive and answer written communications; and, (4) provide notice of meetings to all members in good standing.

Controller – The controller shall: (1) collect the dues from the membership; (2) be responsible for receipt and custody of NCDPAC's funds; (3) keep the financial records of NCDPAC; (4) insure the filing of the appropriate federal and state campaign disclosure reports; (5) sign, or authorize signature on, all checks as authorized by its Executive Board.

Review of By-Laws

During the past year, we have had numerous changes in the officers and the focus of North County Unity. As we progress into the 2010 election cycle, we need to review our existing by-laws and make amendments where appropriate. We want to be in a position to have the structure of NC Unity be the most efficient and effective organization possible to continue our quest to elect Democratic Candidates in the northern portion of San Diego County.

This is our Brand New Website

Thank you for visiting our new North County Unity Website. We hope that this will be a place where we will keep everyone in North County active and involved as we move into the special ballot measure election in May, and on to the 2010 election cycle.

This site is being developed by volunteers, so don't be too critical, we are learning.
